Khroma Quartet

The Khroma Saxophone Quartet is an awarding winning chamber ensemble that was founded in 2018 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Committed to artistry at the highest level, Khroma’s repertoire ranges from transcriptions to contemporary works with a special emphasis on audience engagement. The members come from unique and decorated backgrounds, allowing the quartet to be informed by an accumulation of experiences and saxophone pedigrees. The group is comprised of Doctor of Musical Arts candidates Wilson Poffenberger (tenor) and Anne Kunkle (soprano), Artist Diploma student Michael Chapa (baritone), and Master of Music student Scott Augustine (alto). Most recently Khroma was awarded the Silver Medal at the prestigious Fischoff National Chamber Competition in South Bend, IN and was an invited chamber ensemble at the 2018 Midwest Clinic in Chicago, IL.
